3.3. Time Code Frame Rates
InqScribe supports several time code standards:
- 23.976 fps (or 23.98)
- 24 fps (traditional film)
- 25 fps (PAL)
- 29.97 fps (NTSC)
- 29.97 fps (NTSC Drop-Frame)
- 30 fps (Digital Video)
- 50 fps
- 59.94 fps
- 60 fps
- 1000 fps
We refer to these as time code frame rates.
Each InqScribe document has a native time code frame rate, which is shown just below the transcript field. Don't confuse this with the frame rate of your video file! There is no connection between the two rates.
All time codes inserted into this transcript will use the given format.
You can change the frame rate for a given document in the Transcript Settings dialog.
If you select a movie that has its own embedded time code, it will have its own native time code frame rate. In this case, it's generally a good idea for your transcript to use the same frame rate as the movie's time code. In fact, if InqScribe notices a mismatch, it will ask you whether you want to adjust the transcript time code to match the movie's.
